Center duties

As the Executive Assistant, Mrs. Green works directly with the Center’s Executive Director.  She arranges and handles logistics for all Center meetings involving the Director, for the Center’s core committees, and for the Director’s research teams, including scheduling the meetings, collating the agendas, circulating materials, taking notes, and checking in to ensure promised action items are completed before subsequent meetings.
She ensures that logistics and materials for the Director’s meetings outside the Center are well organized, including anticipating details for smooth timings, making travel arrangements, and completing expense reports.  She also handles correspondence and phone calls as well as assists with special projects and events.

Professional Background:  Dedra has over 20 years of administrative experience, 8 of which were with the Office of Communications and Marketing at the University.  Prior to working for the University Dedra worked in the Criminal Justice field for 15 years, 10 years as a Correctional Deputy for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and 6 years as a Probation and Parole Officer for the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections.
