Center Spotlight: Dr. Raymond Biggar
Thu, 03/01/2018 - 1:50pmThe Picard Center would like to acknowledge the recent work and successes of Dr. Raymond Biggar. His continued dedication to juvenile justice is an integral piece of our mission at the Picard Center. He is a valuable member of our team, and we are thankful for and appreciative of his rigorous pursuits and dedication to his work.
Dr. Biggar has a number of upcoming presentations on addictive behavior and juvenile risk and protective factors at academic conferences throughout the the country. Some of these conferences include the Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers, Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, and the Annual Meeting of the Southern Sociological Society. Dr. Biggar has a recently awarded project with a local counseling center and the Office of Juvenile Justice, and a renewed contract for the Communities That Care Youth Survey (a $1 million project with Louisiana Office of Behavioral Health). He has also recently published a large report on the impact of gambling in Louisiana, the results of which came from a study he directed that collected information on adult gambling behaviors.
